Improvement Plans for Roads in the Volta Region

- The Ho bypass road is almost ready to start
- Kwame Agbodza and engineers visited roads in the Volta Region
- The Weta-Afiadenyigba Road will be repaired with 2025 budget funds
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has announced that the feasibility studies, drawings, and designs for the Ho bypass road network are nearly finished.
He mentioned that procurement and construction work will begin soon on the road, which will run from Sokode Etoe, through UHAS and Mirage, to Titrinu.
Mr. Agbodza shared this update during a visit to the Volta Region to inspect the condition of several key road networks with a team of engineers from the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana Highway Authority. He was accompanied by his deputy, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, and a group of engineers.
Among the roads inspected was the Ho-Aflao Road, which is set to be reconstructed as part of President John Mahama’s Big Push Agenda. Also included was the Weta-Afiadenyigba-Havedzi Road, which will be funded by the Roads Ministry under the 2025 budget. The Ho-Aflao Road has worsened over the years, causing drivers to take alternative routes through Mafi-Kumase and Sogakope for safer, more convenient travel. Drivers are hopeful that the promised reconstruction of these roads, especially the Ho-Aflao stretch, will alleviate their travel difficulties.
