60-year-old man accused of abusing a 12-year old girl

The police in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District, Central Region, are searching for 60-year-old Yaw Oboobi, who is accused of assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The victim is a student at Twifo Neamakurom D/A Basic School in the area.
The girl became seriously ill after the alleged assault.
Eyewitnesses say Yaw Oboobi, a married man with three children, allegedly assaulted the girl in his bedroom at Twifo Neamakurom.
Following the incident, the girl’s walk changed, which raised concerns from her family. Initially silent, the girl later revealed that Oboobi had assaulted her and threatened her with death if she told anyone, offering her five cedis to keep quiet. The girl was taken to the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Hospital, where a doctor confirmed the assault.
The case has been reported to the Twifo Atti Morkwa Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), and the police are actively searching for Oboobi, who is currently on the run.
The DOVVSU has begun an investigation, and Superintendent Charles Addei Boateng, the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Commander, has urged the public to help provide any information that may assist in finding the suspect.
