Nsoatreman FC Pulls Out of Ghana Premier League

- Nsoatreman FC withdraws from the league over safety concerns
- Decision follows a near attack and Kotoko supporter’s stabbing
- The GFA has not responded
Nsoatreman FC has officially withdrawn from the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, citing serious concerns about the safety and security of their players.
This decision follows a narrow escape from a potential attack before their scheduled Matchday 23 game against FC Samartex on Monday at DUN’s Park. The situation escalated after the tragic stabbing of an Asante Kotoko supporter during their Matchday 19 match on February 2, which led to Nsoatreman being banned from hosting matches at Nana Kronmansah Park. Tensions have remained high, with reports indicating that some frustrated fans may be planning retaliation.
In a statement, the club explained that they were “compelled to make this decision” in order to safeguard their players’ well-being.
Sitting 14th on the league table with 21 points, Nsoatreman was scheduled to play against Berekum Holy Stars in their next match.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has yet to comment on the club’s withdrawal.
