After weeks of excitement, music enthusiasts and industry professionals across the nation are nearly at the finish line, as the official nominees for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) will be revealed this Saturday, March 15, 2025.
The big reveal will be broadcast live on TV3 and streamed on the Ghana Music Awards’ official social media channels, giving fans the chance to see which of their favorite artists and groups have earned a spot on this year’s prestigious list of nominees.
The road to this year’s TGMA kicked off on January 21, 2025, when nominations officially opened.
Artists and music groups were invited to submit their works released during the eligibility period — from January 1 to December 31, 2024 — for consideration. The submission window remained open until February 16, 2025.
Charterhouse, the organizers of the esteemed awards event, noted that this year’s response was overwhelming. Over 1,500 entries were submitted by more than 130 artists and groups, covering a wide range of genres and styles.
After the submission deadline, a team of industry experts, including seasoned musicians, producers, and key figures, undertook the meticulous task of reviewing and assessing each entry. The screening process was thorough, based on clear criteria to ensure only the most exceptional and deserving candidates were selected.
Once the review was complete, the final list of nominees was approved by the TGMA board and other influential figures in the music industry, ensuring a fair and credible selection process. While all categories are significant, the spotlight will be on the prestigious Big 5 categories, which usually generate the most buzz and public discussion. These categories represent the highest honors in Ghanaian music and will be revealed live during the ceremony.
