Government Denies Joselyn Dumas’ Alleged Appointment

- Felix Kwakye Ofosu denied that Joselyn Dumas got a government job
- He confirmed other creative arts appointments
- Some people on social media disagreed with the rumor
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has rejected claims that actress Joselyn Dumas has been appointed to a role in John Mahama’s government.
The rumors, which emerged on March 2, 2025, suggested that Duma had been named Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President. However, Kwakye Ofosu clarified in an interview that, while he could confirm the appointments of other creative arts figures, Joselyn Dumas was not among them.
“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm the rest,” he said.
Recently, several other figures, including Kofi Okyere Darko, Rex Omar, Abeiku Santana, Kafui Danku, and James Gardiner, have been appointed to various roles such as Director of Diaspora Affairs and Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Kwakye Ofosu confirmed these appointments, but they have not been officially announced by the Presidency or the Minister of Government Communications. Instead, the information was shared through media sources and associates of the appointees, similar to the unverified reports about Dumas.
Following the viral news of Dumas’ alleged appointment, some social media users voiced their dissatisfaction, questioning her connection to the party.
“This should be fake news, or it will annoy the grassroots paa. Hmmmmmmmm,” Quanta Masahudu wrote on Facebook.
Salifu Mohammed Rabiu added, “This appointment nkoaa dier, daabi daabi. People worked so hard to win you power, and these are the people you reward? Disappointing!”
Another user, Raphael Ankonam, asked why broadcaster Bridget Otoo had not been appointed and warned the president against making random appointments.
