Jay-Z is suing a woman who retracted her rape accusation against him in February. His defamation lawsuit alleges that she “voluntarily admitted” to being coerced into making false claims as part of an “evil conspiracy” aimed at extorting money and tarnishing his reputation.

The anonymous woman first filed her lawsuit in October and refiled it in December, accusing Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her age 13, after the 2000 MTV Video Music Award. Both rappers have denied the allegations. Mr. Buzbee has gained international attention for the numerous legal cases he has filed on behalf of individuals accusing Mr. Combs of sexual misconduct, extortion, assault, and other offenses.
Mr. Combs has denied all the allegations.

He is also facing federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Jay-Z’s defamation lawsuit states that the woman told his legal team her attorneys had forced her to make the false accusations.
“Buzbee brought J-Z into it”, it says she said.
Despite her admitting that Jay-Z “did not sexually assault [her],” the defamation lawsuit claims that Mr. Buzbee “encouraged [her] to proceed” with the false story in order to strengthen the case and extort more money.
