“Antoahene is a True Royal on the Stool” – Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has officially recognized Nana Kwaku Ware III as the rightful chief of Antoa, affirming his royal status.

The affirmation was made when the new chief appeared before the Kumasi Traditional Council on February 24, 2025, to take an oath of allegiance.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II revealed that he had personally investigated Nana Kwaku Ware III’s family tree to verify his royal lineage. “I had heard rumours that you were not a royal and I’m sure you heard that too. I decided to personally delve into your family…I wanted to clear all doubts surrounding your enstoolment.”

The Asantehene emphasized that Nana Kwaku Ware III is a true royal on the Antoa Stool, based on his findings.

In addition to affirming the new chief’s royal status, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also cautioned him against engaging in any behavior that could lead to his destoolment. “Be clear that if you commit adultery, you will be destooled.”

The Asantehene specifically referred to allegations of adultery with a married woman and sleeping with two sisters.

Furthermore, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II instructed Nana Kwaku Ware III to resolve all outstanding chieftaincy issues over the stool. The Monarch acknowledged that numerous groups are claiming to be royal gates in the town, and these cases have been pending for a long time.

“Many things are in disarray in the town. When you get enstooled, make sure you put them all in order. Nkansa Boansi’s descendants say they are Antoa royals entitled to the stool. It has been outstanding for a long time and you seem to be covering it up.”

The Asantehene urged Nana Kwaku Ware III to address these issues transparently. “Let it come out so I know what’s going on. My sons – descendants of Konadu Sinpinimu – are there. They claim to be part of you. Let me know the truth. We have to put an end to all these issues. We have to know the true royals.”
