Nii Lantey Vanderpuye Appointed as National Coordinator for DRIP

- President Mahama appoints Edwin Vanderpuye as DRIP National Coordinator
- DRIP aims to improve road networks in all 275 constituencies
- Vanderpuye to oversee programme implementation and ensure transparency
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, as the National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP). This appointment positions Vanderpuye at the forefront of enhancing road infrastructure across Ghana, a vital sector for national development.
The District Road Improvement Programme, launched in July 2024 by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, aims to improve road networks in all 275 constituencies.¹ The initiative provides Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary resources and machinery for effective road maintenance and construction. By decentralizing infrastructure development, the programme empowers local authorities to undertake essential road projects efficiently and transparently.
Vanderpuye’s appointment is notable due to his strong advocacy for transparency and accountability in government-led infrastructure projects. As National Coordinator, he will oversee the implementation of DRIP, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure its success.
