A 10-year-old boy, Nurudeen Abubakar, has tragically drowned in Salt Lake at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Adom News has gathered that Nurudeen went missing on Wednesday after returning home from school. His body was discovered the following day, Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Isaac Quansah, the Assemblyman for the Upper Nyanyano electoral area, confirmed the incident in an interview with Adom News. Mr. Quansah also revealed that the boy’s body had been taken to the Mother and Child Hospital mortuary for preservation.
The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. In the wake of the tragedy, the Assemblyman urged parents to be extra vigilant in monitoring their children’s movements to prevent similar incidents in the future.
