Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has responded to critics who label her as rude, stating that she is merely confident and honest in her approach.

In an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on the Changes show, Nana Aba addressed the issue of being perceived as rude. She explained that she prefers to tackle matters head-on, adding that she will never apologize for being honest.

“I hear that all the time, and I don’t apologize for it. I don’t render any apologies for it. I don’t know why anybody will say I’m rude because I just like to tell things as they are. In a measured way, most of the time I’m polite. But my politeness is sometimes hidden in a very subtle and sarcastic way. I hear people say that I’m rude. I’m not rude; I’m just a very confident person,” she said.

Nana Aba noted that many women struggle with confidence due to the fear of being labeled as rude. This, she believes, is one of the reasons she initiated her program, Women of Valour.

According to her, men tend to exude more confidence during job interviews than women, which she thinks needs to be addressed. “The problem is that women are sometimes afraid to say what they can do because they think people will say they’re too knowing and want people to see that they can do this or that, but there’s nothing wrong with it because that’s what you can do. This is what I’m capable of doing, and this is what I’m bringing to the table when you employ me. So, there’s a confidence issue with a lot of our ladies,” Nana Aba added.

This lack of confidence, she explained, makes it challenging for women to negotiate their salaries when offered a job opportunity. Instead, they often accept low offers, fearing they may lose the chance.

Nana Aba emphasized that she doesn’t mind being perceived as rude when necessary, stating that some questions deserve rude responses. She remains unbothered by those who think she is impolite.
