The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has instructed the National Communications Authority (NCA) to shut down seven radio stations across Ghana for failing to obtain valid frequency authorizations.
The affected stations are as follows:
- Fire Group of Companies, Sunyani (90.1 MHz)

According to a media advisory from the Ministry, the shutdown was ordered due to the stations’ non-compliance with the requirements outlined in Section 2(4) of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), which mandates valid frequency authorizations for operation.
The Ministry also stated that it is currently reviewing the frequency authorization audit and will issue further directives when necessary.
