A fire has severely damaged parts of the Buipewura’s Palace in the Savannah Region, completely destroying two rooms. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, prompting an immediate response from the Buipe Fire Station.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported that the fire affected a section of the palace that housed six single-bedroom apartments. Thanks to the swift action of firefighters, four rooms were saved, preventing further destruction to the building.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are underway to determine how the blaze started.
Although some personal belongings were destroyed in the two affected rooms, fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The GNFS has praised the duty officer and his team for their prompt and effective response, which played a crucial role in limiting the damage to the palace.
