Bishop Salifu, Wife, and Assistant Re-Arrested After Court Discharges Them

- Bishop re-arrested after court discharge
- Fatal accident involving underage son
- New charges filed
The founder of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elijah Salifu Amoako, his wife, Mouha, and their sales assistant, Linda Bonsu Bempah, were re-arrested shortly after being discharged by an Accra Circuit Court.
This development came after the Attorney-General withdrew the original charges against the trio. However, moments following their discharge, police officers took them into custody again to face new charges related to a fatal accident involving their 16-year-old son, Elrad Amoako.
The three individuals had been initially arrested on October 15, 2024, following preliminary investigations which revealed they had allegedly allowed their underage son to drive a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
The incident in question occurred on October 12, 2024, at East Legon, when the teenager drove the family’s white Jaguar F-Pace Sports. While operating the vehicle without a license, Elrad collided with an Acura utility vehicle, causing it to catch fire. Tragically, two young girls lost their lives in the accident.
Legal experts have explained that the withdrawal of the original charges and re-arresting of the accused is a procedural move frequently used in criminal cases when the prosecution finds the initial charges insufficient. This allows them to withdraw the previous charges, arrest the accused again, and refile new charges, effectively starting the process over.
The Bishop, his wife, and their assistant are expected to face court proceedings again as investigations continue into how the minor was allowed to operate the vehicle unlawfully.
