President Mahama Departs for Munich Security Conference in Germany

President John Dramani Mahama departed Accra on Wednesday afternoon for the Munich Security Conference in Germany. The President will be away from February 12 to 17, during which he will also attend the African Union (AU) Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Before his departure from the Jubilee Lounge of Kotoka International Airport, Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spoke to the press. He stated that President Mahama, in his capacity as Chairman of the Tana Forum, will participate in discussions aimed at evolving strategies to improve African security.
Kwakye Ofosu highlighted the importance of security in the current global geopolitical environment, emphasizing that it is essential for prominent African leaders to contribute to global conversations on the matter. “In today’s complex geopolitical landscape, security remains a key issue, making it essential for prominent African leaders to have a voice in global discussions,” he said.
During his time in Munich, President Mahama is scheduled to take part in the opening forum of the conference and hold bilateral talks with world leaders and organizations. These discussions will center on strengthening Ghana’s international relations and enhancing mutual cooperation.
Additionally, the President will speak at a side event organized by the Tana Forum, where he will share his vision on emerging security challenges both within Africa and globally.
