Bono Region Parents Sue WAEC Over Withheld Examination Results

- Parents sue WAEC over withheld exam results
- Over 400 parents join lawsuit, demand immediate release
- Case set for March 10, 2025, at Sunyani High Court
A group of parents in the Bono Region has taken legal action against the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) over the withholding of their children’s examination results. The parents claim that WAEC’s decision has caused undue stress and uncertainty for their children, who now face the risk of missing out on tertiary admissions.
The parents, who are represented by their lawyer, Mr. Antwi Adjei, have filed the lawsuit in the Sunyani High Court. Mr. Adjei spoke to Adom News and confirmed that over 400 parents have joined the legal action, arguing that the withholding of their children’s results was unfair.
“We are demanding the immediate release of the results, as any further delay could severely impact the academic futures of these students,” Mr. Adjei stated.
At this point, WAEC has not officially responded to the lawsuit. The case is ongoing, with the next hearing set for March 10, 2025, at the Sunyani High Court.
The parents remain hopeful for a favorable ruling that will enable their children to receive their results and continue with their education. Some parents have also appealed directly to WAEC, urging the examination body to speed up the process and release the withheld results to prevent further disruption to their children’s academic progress.
