The Director of Hourhand Watch Company, Patrick Amofah, has presented customized solid gold timepieces to the Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and his wife, Lady Julia. The luxurious wristwatches were gifted during the Awukudae Festival held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.

The faces of the watches feature the images of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Lady Julia, while the casebacks of both timepieces bear the Asante flag, adding a personal and cultural touch to the gifts.

Amofah, who was accompanied by Oheneba Owusu Korkor, the Asamponghene, was led to present the watches before the Asantehene and Nananom. Oheneba Owusu Korkor spoke on Amofah’s behalf, stating, “He is here for the blessings of Otumfuo.”

This marks the second occasion Amofah has honored the King with his creations. In July 2023, he presented Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with a customized 18-karat gold electro-plated wristwatch valued at GH100,000. That piece was a part of the Warrior King Heritage watch brand, which was about to be introduced to the market by Hourhand Watch Company at the time.

In an interview with opemsuo.com on the sidelines of the ceremony, Amofah explained the reasoning behind his gesture. “My gesture is in recognition of the King’s contributions towards the peace and development of Ghana,” he said.
