Real Madrid Move Into Second Place with Dominant 4-2 Win Over Sevilla

Real Madrid maintained their pursuit of La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid with a resounding 4-2 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu. The win was fueled by stunning long-range strikes from Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde, as well as goals from Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz.

The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute through Mbappe, who unleashed a dipping 25-yard strike that beat Alvaro Fernandez. Valverde doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a spectacular 30-yard effort following a Madrid corner.

Rodrygo added a third goal in the 34th minute, sweeping home a Lucas Vazquez cut-back to underscore Madrid’s dominance. Sevilla pulled a goal back through Isaac Romero’s header, but Mbappe turned provider after the restart, setting up Brahim Diaz for a beautifully crafted goal.

The match also marked an emotional farewell for Sevilla captain Jesus Navas, who made his 705th appearance for the club before retiring due to a chronic hip injury. Navas, 39, almost provided an assist immediately after coming on, but Isaac’s low strike rebounded off the post.

Sevilla scored a late consolation goal through Dodi Lukebakio, but the damage had already been done. The win propelled Madrid into second place in the table, two points ahead of Barcelona and just one point behind leaders Atletico.
