Kudus Confident in West Ham’s Potential After Brighton Draw
- West Ham draws 1-1 with Brighton
- Kudus scores equalizer for West Ham
- Kudus optimistic about West Ham's potential
West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus has expressed confidence in the team’s potential to achieve great success, citing the quality within the squad. The Ghanaian international made these comments following West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at the London Olympic Stadium.
Kudus, 24, highlighted the team’s collective strength, emphasizing that with their talent, the Hammers have the ability to accomplish big things if they continue to work together as a unit.
“We’re together as a group, and I think we’re getting there. We have a lot of quality, and I think there is a lot that we can achieve,” Kudus said in an interview on the club’s website. “It’s about completing the puzzle together, and hopefully, we can do better again in the next game.”
Brighton took the lead in the match shortly after halftime when Mats Wieffer scored his first goal for the club. Pervis Estupinan delivered a high ball into the box, which was only partially cleared by West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, allowing Wieffer to slot the ball home near the penalty spot.
However, West Ham responded quickly, equalizing just seven minutes later. Jarrod Bowen maneuvered forward before having his shot parried by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. Kudus was in the right place to head in the rebound, bringing the score to 1-1.
Looking ahead, West Ham will travel to St. Mary’s for their next Premier League fixture against Southampton.
