A somber atmosphere enveloped the Kumasi-Patasi Trinity Baptist Church earlier today as family, friends, and classmates gathered to bid a tearful farewell to Afia Dedaa Osae-Atuah, a young life tragically cut short.
The funeral service was filled with sorrow as mourners, dressed in black and white, paid their respects to the third-year Geography student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), who died in a horrific accident in Kumasi.
Classmates from KNUST shared touching memories of Dedaa’s warm personality, academic dedication, and the positive impact she had on those around her. The grief was especially heavy for her family, who mourned the devastating loss of a beloved daughter.
Dedaa’s life was tragically taken when a speeding trotro veered off course and struck her, along with another pedestrian, as they stood by the roadside waiting for a commercial vehicle. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries hours later.
Her funeral service, held just two weeks after the tragic incident, served as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the deep loss felt by those who knew her.
