Inmates at the Koforidua Prisons are making a desperate appeal for food donations this Christmas season, citing an insufficient daily feeding allowance of just GH₵1.80.
Speaking to Adom News, the Public Relations Officer of the Koforidua Prisons, DSP Ezekiel Kolletey, conveyed the inmates’ plea, emphasizing the challenges they face with the inadequate food provisions. He called on Ghanaians to lend their support, particularly during the festive season when the need for basic necessities is heightened.
This appeal followed a generous visit from the Church of Pentecost – Nkawkaw Adoagyiri District Women’s Ministry, in collaboration with OAT Bakery, who donated food, drinks, tissues, and other essential items to the prison.
During the donation presentation, District Pastor Mordecai Wereko encouraged the inmates to remain hopeful, reminding them that imprisonment does not signify the end of their lives. He urged the inmates to embrace faith in Jesus Christ, offering them reassurance of a brighter future beyond their current circumstances.
