Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the vandalism of several vehicles at the premises of the Parliament of Ghana.
The suspects, identified as 42-year-old Wisdom Ahile and 33-year-old Christopher Okyere, were apprehended after being seen damaging vehicles with an axe head.
The incident occurred in the mid-morning hours of Wednesday while parliamentary proceedings were underway. The suspects were seen vandalizing the windscreens and side windows of five vehicles, including two Toyota Land Cruisers belonging to Members of Parliament, a Toyota Rav4, and two Toyota Camrys, all owned by parliamentary staff.
Parliamentary security personnel responded quickly to the situation, preventing further damage and arresting the individuals. They were then handed over to police officers for further investigation.
At this time, the motive behind the vandalism remains unclear, and authorities have not provided any information regarding possible reasons for the attack.
