“In This Term, Everybody Wants to Be My Friend” – Donald Trump
- Trump says enemies now want to be friends
- Plans to meet Amazon's Jeff Bezos
- Hints at possible pardon for NYC Mayor Eric Adams
In his first press conference since being elected the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump discussed the shifting dynamics between him and his political adversaries, revealing that many of those who opposed him in his first term now seek his friendship.
Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump remarked on the contrast between the start of his first term and the current political climate. “In the first term, everyone was fighting me. In this term, everybody wants to be my friend,” he told reporters, reflecting on the change in attitudes toward his leadership.
Responding to a question about his recent meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Trump suggested a shift in his approach to relations with major business figures. “I don’t know, my personality changed or something,” he quipped, adding a lighthearted tone to the discussion. He also revealed that he plans to meet with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in the near future, signaling increasing engagement with prominent business leaders.
Trump was also asked about New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who faced bribery and fraud charges earlier this year. Hinting at the possibility of a pardon for the embattled mayor, Trump stated, “I think that he was treated pretty unfairly.”
The president-elect addressed other pressing issues, including concerns over recent drone sightings. He assured the public that the U.S. military possesses more information than it has disclosed, suggesting that not all details are being shared publicly at this time.
