Medikal Announces No Features in 2025, Even for Shatta Wale

Ghanaian rapper Medikal has confirmed that he will not feature any artists in 2025, including his close friend and fellow musician, Shatta Wale. The rapper made this revelation during an interview on the Daybreak Hitz show, hosted by Andy Dosty, as he discussed his music plans for the upcoming year.

When asked by Andy Dosty whether he would collaborate with Shatta Wale, Medikal responded with the word “Akyedudu,” which translates to “he’s a lawyer by himself,” signaling that Shatta Wale is fully capable of standing on his own without needing a feature.

The exchange highlighted the strong chemistry and mutual respect between the two artists, even though there are no planned collaborations for 2025. Medikal went on to explain that he does not accept payment for features, emphasizing his desire to focus on his own music and upcoming projects in the new year. “In 2025, I would rather focus on myself and my upcoming EP,” he said.

However, Medikal left open the possibility of working with other artists under specific circumstances. “Even if I will feature someone, I will be the one to put the person on my song, not the other way round,” he clarified.

In addition to his plans for 2025, Medikal is gearing up for a major event later this year. He will headline a hangout concert at Ghud Park, located at the Accra Mall, on December 26, 2024, starting at 6 PM. The concert will also feature Shatta Wale, further showcasing their collaboration despite Medikal’s decision not to take on any features next year.
