- Jay-Z Denies Rape Allegations
- Accuses Attorney of Blackmail & Extortion
- Demands Criminal Complaint Instead
Rap mogul Jay-Z has released a statement vehemently denying allegations of raping a 13-year-old girl with fellow hip-hop star Diddy. The accusations, made in a lawsuit filed by an anonymous plaintiff identified as “Jane Doe,” claim the alleged assault occurred at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000.
In his statement, posted on Roc Nation’s X account, Jay-Z describes the allegations as “heinous” and questions the motives of attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing the accuser. “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee,” Jay-Z states. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”
Jay-Z asserts that the allegations had the opposite effect, prompting him to expose Buzbee as a “fraud” and refusing to settle. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
The lawsuit alleges that Jay-Z and Diddy took turns assaulting the accuser while an unnamed female celebrity watched. Jay-Z urges Buzbee to file a criminal complaint instead of a civil one, stating, “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
In conclusion, Jay-Z accuses Buzbee of making a “terrible error in judgment” and exploiting people for personal gain. “We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physicists, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable. I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
