The Ghana Police Service has arrested nine individuals in connection with the recent arson attack on the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Ayensuano, Eastern Region. This brings the total number of arrests related to post-election violence across the country to 106.
In a press statement released on December 10, the police confirmed the arrests and provided details about the ongoing investigation. “The Ghana Police Service has arrested 9 suspects in connection with the setting ablaze of the Electoral Commission office at Ayensuano in the Eastern Region,” the statement read.
The suspects, who are currently in police custody, are assisting with investigations, and legal proceedings are underway. The police assured the public that the individuals will be held accountable for their actions. “All suspects are in custody assisting the Police investigation, and they will be made to face justice,” the statement further emphasized.
