Kwabena Baidoo, a former player for Sekondi Hasaacas FC, has tragically passed away in a motor accident while celebrating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory in Ghana’s 2024 general elections.
The fatal incident occurred on Monday, December 9, in the Ellembelle District. Baidoo was reportedly jubilating in the wake of the NDC’s win when the accident took his life.
His brother, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the heartbreaking news, describing it as a devastating loss for their family.
As of now, Sekondi Hasaacas FC has yet to release an official statement regarding Baidoo’s passing.
The celebration that led to Baidoo’s untimely death followed the NDC’s victory, as supporters across the country erupted in joy. This came after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat to the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama.
Mahama secured 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast, compared to Bawumia’s 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.
