Ghanaian actress Rose Mensah, widely known as Kyeiwaa, has shared an important message with young people, urging them not to underestimate the value of education.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, the actress, who has gained fame for her roles in films like Akurasi Burgers, The Code of Money and Death, and Akonoba, recounted her personal challenges stemming from her low educational level when she moved to the United States.
She cautioned that while the consequences of neglecting education might not be immediately apparent, they can have significant effects later in life. “As you keep refusing to go to school, you might not see the effects today. You might experience them in future when you travel abroad,” she said.
Kyeiwaa further advised the youth to appreciate the sacrifices their parents make for their education. “If your mother is working hard to fend for you so that you get educated, pay attention and go to school. Don’t say you won’t go to school. You might not feel the impact today,” she emphasized.
Reflecting on her own experiences, she revealed the difficulties she faced due to her lack of education, particularly when it came to language barriers. “If you don’t go to school, you might not be able to communicate in English just like me. I have been through it, that is why I am advising you,” she added.
