Afrobeats star Davido has announced that his highly anticipated fifth studio album will be released in early 2025.
In an exclusive interview on The Baller Alert Show, the 32-year-old musician confirmed that the album is slated for release “early 2025.” However, he kept details about the album under wraps, leaving fans in suspense about the title, featured artists, and the exact release date.
Alongside the announcement about his upcoming album, Davido revealed another exciting project: a collaboration with Nigerian artists Chike and Odumodublvck. The new track, titled “Funds,” is set for release in the coming days.
During the interview, Davido praised his collaborators, describing Odumodublvck as the “biggest Nigerian rapper” and likening Chike to American singer Bryson Tiller. He said, “We have another [song] coming in a couple of days; it is called Funds. I featured the current biggest Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, and the Nigerian Bryson Tiller—girls love him; his name is Chike.”
When discussing his upcoming album, Davido hinted that it would showcase a distinctive African influence, stating, “My album will be coming out early next year. It will be a real African record.”
Davido also touched on his commitment to staying in Nigeria, despite opportunities to relocate abroad. “I have to stay tapped in because why run away from home when others are running there now,” he added.
Since rising to fame in 2012 with his hit single “Dami Duro” from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo, Davido has continued to solidify his place as one of Africa’s most successful and influential artists. His previous albums, including A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (2023), have all earned critical acclaim and commercial success.
