“Even if my Wife Shoots me or cheats on me, I won’t leave her” – Peter Obi

Former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate Peter Obi has made a bold declaration about his commitment to his marriage. In a recent interview on The Honest Bunch podcast, Obi revealed that nothing, not even infidelity or abuse, would make him leave his wife.

Obi emphasized that his relationship with his wife is a lifelong bond that transcends external judgments or actions. “No matter what my wife does today, I can’t stop marrying her, and I can’t separate with her. I can never,” he stated. “Even if she likes, let her use a gun to shoot me. As long as I’m alive, she’s my wife. That’s it. That’s me.”

He also highlighted that his wife’s choices are separate from his values and won’t tarnish his character. “Because what is she going to do that will offend me? What? Maybe have an affair, it’s her business. It’s not me,” Obi explained.

The couple’s liberal lifestyle allows for differences in lifestyle preferences, such as traveling together but sitting in different classes. Obi shared a personal anecdote, “My wife sits in business class, while I sit in economy.” Despite these differences, Obi noted that they have never led to conflict.
