Manchester United is set to visit Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, as the draw was announced today.
Defending champions Liverpool will also face a challenge, traveling to take on struggling Premier League side Southampton. In another notable matchup, Arsenal will host Crystal Palace in a highly anticipated London derby, while Newcastle United will welcome Brentford to St. James’ Park.
The quarter-final matches are scheduled for the week of December 16. This year’s tournament marks a significant shift, as it is the first time in 14 years that no EFL clubs have reached the League Cup quarter-finals.
Tottenham secured their place by defeating Manchester City in the fourth round, while Manchester United triumphed over Leicester with a score of 5-2 under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. United hopes to have Ruben Amorim in charge by the time of the match.
The semi-finals are set to be contested over two legs in the weeks of January 6 and February 3, culminating in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 16.
