About Akua Donkor

Akua Donkor was born in February 1952 in the Afigya Kwabre District of Ghana’s Ashanti Region. A cocoa farmer by trade, she did not receive formal education.

Donkor began her political journey by being elected as an assemblywoman for Herman, a stepping stone toward her aspiration of becoming the President of Ghana. Her presidential ambitions were notably highlighted during the 2012 elections when she sought to run as an independent candidate.

However, the electoral commission barred her from participating, a decision with which Madam Donkor strongly disagreed.
