Ghana’s National Farmers’ Day Set for November 8, 2024

The Agriculture Ministry has officially announced that the 40th edition of Ghana’s National Farmers’ Day will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024.

In a press release issued by the Acting Chief Director, Paul Siameh, it was revealed that the main celebration will occur in the Greater Accra Region, specifically at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, commencing at 4:00 p.m.

This year, the Ministry will not hold regional celebrations. Instead, each region has the opportunity to nominate winners for ten specific regional award categories. These awardees will be invited to Accra, where they will be honored at the national Awards Night Ceremony.

During the ceremony, awards will be presented to the honorees by Regional Ministers representing their respective areas.

The Ministry has instructed that all costs associated with the participation of regional award winners—including travel, accommodation, and meals—will be financed by the respective Regional Coordinating Councils.

Moreover, the attendance of Regional Ministers and Regional Directors of Agriculture is anticipated at the Awards Night Ceremony, with their related expenses also to be covered by their councils.

The Ministry underscored the significance of this event, highlighting the essential role of regional representatives in celebrating and recognizing the critical contributions of Ghanaian farmers to the country’s development.
