Social Media Reacts to Okomfo Kolege’s Remarriage Two Years After Wife’s Passing

Social media has erupted with mixed reactions following the viral videos of actor Collins Oteng, known as Okomfo Kolege, after his recent wedding. The Kumawood star has remarried in a private ceremony, held on October 20, 2024, attended by close friends and family, just two years after the death of his first wife.

In the footage from the traditional marriage, Okomfo Kolege is seen dressed in a vibrant kente outfit, while his new wife dazzles in a stylish two-piece kente gown. The couple appeared joyful as they posed for the cameras.

However, not all netizens have welcomed the actor’s decision to remarry. Some criticized him for what they perceive as a hasty decision, recalling the deep grief he expressed following his wife’s passing. Critics labeled his quick remarriage as hypocritical, given his earlier statements about being too heartbroken to move on.

Conversely, others supported his choice, arguing that two years is a reasonable amount of time to heal and start anew.

In a previous interview with Delay, Okomfo Kolege had voiced his fears about moving on after his wife’s death, saying, “We are praying about it. The fear is overwhelming. This doesn’t feel like the right time.” He also expressed concerns about remarriage and the prospect of having children, stating, “I’m gripped with the fear of marriage and childbirth. Even if I come across anyone who looks like my wife, I get startled.”

Reactions on social media varied widely. User obaaadwoa_1 commented, “Aww Men can forget fast paaooo😢,” while october_very_ownnn remarked, “Women should also learn to move on when they lose their husbands. A woman would have still be in black mourning while these men start enjoying when you are buried.”

User daaviadzokitchen added, “Wow so soon,” and ahenkanelvisco said, “Reason why you should live your life the way it sweet you because if you die, you’re gone, you will be replaced.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with angelinadunyo stating, “Hmmmm, so soon,” and maameyeboahafari exclaiming, “Eiii so soon.” User nanaaduhene83 expressed disappointment, saying, “Your wife died just two years ago; look at what you’re doing. I’m really, really disappointed in you paaaaa.”

Another user, 4355.joyce, added, “Men!!! Most of them can’t wait ooo mmm asemoo. He was even dating before his wife’s death 😳 so he can’t wait to marry her hmmm; women should wise up and remarry after the 1-year customary demands.”
