Starting October 22, Ghanaians applying for visas to the United Kingdom will be required to use a new Visa Application Centre (VAC), as the UK transitions from its previous third-party service provider, TLScontact, to VFS Global.
Applicants who began their visa process with TLScontact will need to finalize their applications through VFS Global. In an official announcement on the UK government website, it was stated, “You will be contacted by email if this change affects you.”
The communiqué reassured applicants that the change would not impact visa application decisions, processing times, or fees. It further explained that these modifications aim to “improve our service, including on average shorter biometric and application submission times in the VAC.”
Marc Owen, Director for Visa, Status, and Information Services at UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), expressed optimism about the new VAC, stating, “The opening of our new VAC in Ghana marks an exciting milestone in the provision of a world-class UK visa operation, one which will provide important digital innovations and convenience to customers around the world.”
The new Ghanaian VAC is located at the Mezzanine Floor, Grand Oyeeman Building, South Liberation Link, Accra. For more information on the changes to visa application services, applicants can visit the UK government website at www.gov.uk.
