“If I’d Lost UG Elections, Ghanaians Would Have Ridiculed Me” – Guru NKZ

- Guru NKZ wins University of Ghana's SRC presidency
- Releases "Bebree" song to celebrate victory and thank God
- Says loss would have sparked "gargantuan" mockery
Ghanaian musician Guru NKZ, whose real name is Maradona Yeboah Adjei, has shared his thoughts on the potential ridicule he would have faced if he had not succeeded in becoming the President-elect of the University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC).
In an interview, Guru explained that his latest track, “Bebree,” serves as a tribute to his electoral victory and an expression of gratitude to God. “When you look at my new song, Ball J the producer cooked the beat, and I acknowledged where I had the inspiration from to do this Bebree song,” he stated.
He emphasized the importance of entertaining his fans and spreading joy: “Ours is to entertain our fans and admirers, and so from day one, I will continue to put smiles on the faces of my NKZ fans and continue to do what God has asked me to do.”
The song is also intended as a celebration for the Christmas season. “If I had lost the SRC, people would have mocked me so much in Ghana,” he noted. “The level of mockery would have been gargantuan if we lost, but now that we have won, we need to show them that God has been good.”
