The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) received the prestigious Energy With Purpose Award (CSR Impact Honour) at the inaugural Premier Energy Leadership Middle East & Africa Conference & Awards on October 17, 2024.
The event took place at the Khoory Sky Garden Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Under the theme “Harnessing AI for a Sustainable Energy Future: Innovations, Impact, and Integration,” the conference gathered key figures in the energy sector, organized by The Governance & Business Boardroom, the Middle East Solar Industry Association, JEPMSS, and Energy Governance Middle East & Africa Magazine.
GNPC was recognized for its significant corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, which include funding local and international scholarships, building science laboratories, sick bays, CHPS compounds, 160-bed dormitories, astro turfs, classroom blocks, sanitary facilities, dining halls, and boreholes.
Additionally, GNPC invests in training artisans and providing them with essential tools to launch their entrepreneurial ventures.
Representatives from GNPC, including Deputy Chief Executive (Finance) Benjamin Kweku Acolatse and Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Kwesi Eduah, attended the ceremony.
Their participation highlights GNPC’s dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities across Ghana, with a steadfast commitment to improving the overall quality of life for Ghanaians.
