Rev. Obofour, the Leader and Founder of the Anointed Palace Church, has spoken out regarding the tragic accident involving Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son, which resulted in the deaths of two young girls. During a recent service, Rev. Obofour urged Ghanaians to extend forgiveness to the Bishop’s son for his role in the incident.

Expressing his condolences, Rev. Obofour said, “I empathise with the victims’ families and deeply wish this tragedy had not occurred. Bishop Salifu is a good man. His son and mine attend the same school, and sometimes youthful exuberance makes children take silly decisions. He is sorry, so please forgive him.” He also encouraged fellow men of God to join him in asking for compassion towards the Bishop’s family.

In the background of these events, the police confirmed the arrests of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, on Tuesday, October 15. The charges stem from actions taken by their son, Elrad, who was driving a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) when he collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by Joseph Ackah. This collision tragically led to the deaths of two individuals and left others critically injured.

The incident has drawn significant public attention, with ongoing court proceedings captivating many. Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation as the legal process continues.

Following their arrest, Bishop Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and a sales assistant, Linda Bonsu Prempeh, were granted bail on October 16. The Accra Circuit Court set their bail at GH¢50,000 each, requiring two sureties. The trio has been charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” and pleaded not guilty during their court appearance.

The police confirmed the arrests are directly related to the tragic crash that claimed the lives of the two young girls, prompting widespread discussion and concern within the community.
