Five Mpraeso Senior High School students arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old female student have been discharged by the Nkawkaw District Court in the Eastern region.
Presiding Judge, His Worship Isaac Agyei, made the ruling on Thursday after discovering discrepancies between the police’s charge sheet and the case.
However, according to Adom News journalist Akwasi Dwamena, the students were immediately re-arrested by police authorities. They are expected to face court again in the near future.
The incident occurred on campus on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Three additional students implicated in the crime remain at large, with a police manhunt underway.
The case has sparked concerns about student safety and the need for swift justice. Further developments are anticipated as investigations continue.
