Five Students Detained Over Alleged Mpraeso SHS Gang Rape

A disturbing incident of alleged gang rape has shaken the Mpraeso Senior High School community, leading to the arrest of five students. Three additional suspects remain at large.

According to the 16-year-old victim, the ordeal occurred on Sunday while she was en route to the school canteen with a friend. A male student summoned her, and upon approaching, she was confronted by seven other male students.

The victim recounted, “I’m not aware of the conversation the suspects had with my friend, but she abandoned me as the suspects forcibly had sex with me.” The attack occurred in an isolated area, leaving the victim without immediate assistance.

The victim has undergone medical examination and is seeking justice. “I have been to the hospital for the necessary check-up, and I want the suspects to face the full rigor of the law,” she emphasized.

Mpraeso Senior High School Headmaster James Affadu confirmed the incident to Adom News. “The disciplinary committee has dismissed all eight boys involved, and we have handed over the case to the police for further investigation and appropriate action,” Mr. Affadu stated.

The Nkwatia Divisional Police Command has taken custody of the five arrested students but has yet to process them for court prosecution.

The incident has sparked concerns about student safety and disciplinary actions within the school community.
