Olivia Rodrigo Assures Fans She’s “OK” After Onstage Fall in Melbourne

Olivia Rodrigo has reassured her fans that she is “OK” after a fall on stage during her concert in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday. The incident occurred at the Rod Laver Arena during her fourth and final performance in the city.

Videos shared online show the “Vampire” singer falling into a hole on stage as she sidesteps across, momentarily disappearing from view. In response to the incident, Olivia posted her own clip on TikTok, humorously stating, “I am ok hahaha.”

As the footage captures the moment, fans can be heard gasping as she falls, her hands briefly visible as she grips the edge of the stage. Shortly after, Olivia reemerges, laughing, and exclaims, “Oh my God, that was fun. I’m OK. Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage – that’s alright. OK, where was I?” She then seamlessly continued with her set.

The singer added a playful touch to her TikTok post by tagging it with #subtleforeshadowing, referring to a video editing technique that repeats moments of “fail” at random intervals.

Currently, Olivia is touring Australia as part of her Guts world tour, which began in the United States in February. Her second studio album of the same name has been named critics’ favorite of 2023, featuring hits like “Vampire,” “Get Him Back,” and “Bad Idea Right?”

While in Australia, Olivia also met Pesto, a viral penguin chick that hatched at Melbourne’s Sea Life Aquarium in January. Dubbed an “absolute unit,” Pesto gained online fame as the largest newborn the aquarium had ever seen.

In another milestone, Olivia welcomed the largest audience of her career, performing for over 50,000 fans in Manila. It marked her first concert in the Philippines, where she donated all profits from the show to a charity supporting healthcare for women and girls in the country. Reflecting on the experience, she described it as “the most special show and the most meaningful trip.”

Olivia is scheduled to perform four shows in Sydney later this week before taking a break from the Guts world tour, which will resume in South America in March next year. Additionally, she is set to return to Manchester in June 2025 for a performance at the Co-op Live Arena, following the postponement of earlier dates due to venue issues.
