Pastor Salifu Amoako’s 16-Year Old Son Linked to Fatal East Legon Accident

A tragic accident in East Legon, Accra, has been connected to the son of renowned Ghanaian pastor, Salifu Amoako. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, October 12, 2024, when a Jaguar, allegedly driven by the pastor’s 16-year-old son, collided with an Acura, resulting in a devastating fire.

Witnesses report that the young driver was speeding recklessly just before the crash. Tragically, two passengers, both girls aged approximately 11 and 12, lost their lives in the incident, their bodies burned beyond recognition.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene to recover the charred remains and the burnt vehicles. However, they faced difficulties due to inadequate resources, complicating the removal process. Videos shared on the GNFS Facebook page depict firefighters working to cut through the wreckage as smoke continued to rise.

While Pastor Salifu Amoako’s son survived the accident, he sustained serious injuries. Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the deceased victims, and the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

CCTV footage of the incident has ignited outrage online, with many netizens attributing the crash to the young driver’s recklessness. In Ghana, the legal age to obtain a driver’s license is 18, raising questions about whether the pastor’s son was licensed to drive.

Additional videos shared by a user on X show the pastor’s son speeding in the Jaguar earlier that day. The user, known as Tailor Marique, noted, “Got this video of him recording him speeding just this morning. He is 16 yrs…. I know you guys want names but we shall move carefully. The name will come out eventually. I made a mistake saying he lost control of the car in my earlier post. Nahh this guy needs jail.”

Pastor Salifu Amoako has yet to publicly address the incident. However, sources indicate that his family is cooperating with the families of the victims during this difficult time.
