“GFA President’s Outburst Deflated the Black Stars” – Sonnie Badu

Gospel musician Sonnie Badu has expressed concern over the impact of Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), on the morale of the Black Stars players.

Before the recent match against Sudan, Okraku addressed the team, emphasizing that the country is dissatisfied with their current performance and urged the players to be honest with the more than 30 million Ghanaians they represent. His remarks sparked mixed reactions among the public, with some supporters agreeing that the team needs to take accountability for their lackluster display.

However, Badu disagrees with Okraku’s approach. He believes that the FA chairman should have adopted a more measured demeanor rather than a confrontational stance. In a Facebook post, Badu stated, “With all due respect, I think Kurt’s outburst rather deflated the boys.

Yes, I understand he is frustrated and wanted the nation to see that he is in control. However, football is a psychological game, and this could damage the boys rather than provide the intended motivation.”
