The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will re-exhibit the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR) from October 14 to 19, 2024.
This decision was made following a meeting with political parties and other stakeholders on October 1, 2024, under the auspices of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
The EC emphasized that this exercise is part of its commitment to ensuring a transparent and accurate voter register ahead of the upcoming elections.
As part of the process, the EC has encouraged the public to verify their registration details by dialing 71151# or visiting the commission’s official website.
These platforms allow citizens to check their information on the Provisional Voter’s Register without having to visit an EC office. This is intended to make the verification process more accessible and convenient for all voters.
The Commission also advised the public to report any discrepancies or errors found in their registration details to their respective District Offices for correction.
Ensuring that all details are accurate and up to date is a crucial step in maintaining the integrity of the voter register.
The EC assured the public that prompt action would be taken to address any issues that may arise during the re-exhibition period.
The EC has urged political parties to actively participate in the process by using the template provided to them.
Parties are expected to report any discrepancies they identify during the re-exhibition exercise, helping to ensure a comprehensive and transparent verification process.
According to the Commission, this collaborative effort is aimed at safeguarding the accuracy and reliability of the voter register ahead of the 2024 elections.
