British rapper and online personality Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been charged with multiple sexual offenses in Australia.
The 29-year-old artist, best known for his involvement with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and for hosting shows on BBC Three, was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday. He was subsequently extradited to Perth on Wednesday for a court hearing.
Barrientos was officially charged on Thursday and has had his bail application approved. His representatives have been contacted for further comment.
The charges against him include four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
The allegations state that Barrientos brought a woman in her 20s back to his hotel room after performing at Bar1 nightclub in Perth on September 28.
In Perth Magistrates Court, he was represented by barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, who filed a bail application on Barrientos’ behalf.
In addition to his music career, Barrientos has appeared on UK television, featuring in events such as Soccer Aid on ITV and The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4. He also received a MOBO Award for Best Media Personality in 2021.
