Two Sudanese players of Asante Kotoko, AbdoelKarem Yagoub and Esmat Abdulhamid, have reportedly vanished from the team’s hotel in the United States.

The players were part of a contingent that traveled to the country for a friendly match against DC United.

The incident occurred ahead of Asante Kotoko’s scheduled match against DC United, which was part of the Ghana Week DC 2024 festivities.

Due to visa issues, the club was forced to withdraw from the competition, leaving the contingent already in the US stranded.

According to sources, on Friday night, club officials discovered that the two Sudanese players were missing from the team hotel.

CCTV footage revealed that they had snuck out of the hotel without informing anyone. Efforts to locate the players have so far been unsuccessful.

The incident has cast a shadow over the team’s trip and raised questions about the security and supervision of the players while abroad.
