The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has arrested five suspected landguards for allegedly encroaching on lands belonging to the Ghana Standards Authority and Regimanuel Estate.

This action follows a petition to REGSEC regarding ongoing landguard activities and encroachments in the area.

On Friday, REGSEC members visited the sites to assess the situation and took action against the suspected landguards.

Chairman of REGSEC, Daniel Titus-Glover, addressed the media after the arrests, emphasizing the council’s commitment to restoring order. “We are in a country of law, not in a jungle,” Titus-Glover stated.

REGSEC’s primary objective is to sanitize the region and eliminate landguardism.

The council seeks to ensure peace and tranquility, allowing citizens to live without fear of land encroachment.

Titus-Glover warned that REGSEC will deal decisively with individuals involved in such illegal activities.

The arrested suspects will face questioning and legal action.

REGSEC’s efforts demonstrate a proactive approach to addressing land-related issues in the Greater Accra Region.
