Piers Morgan has publicly apologized to Jay-Z and Beyoncé after allegations made by a guest on his show Uncensored were deemed “totally false.”

During a recent interview with singer Jaguar Wright, who was discussing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent arrest, she stated that she had been “screaming” for four years that “Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.” Following the episode, Morgan revealed on Tuesday that he had received communication from the legal representatives of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, asserting that Wright’s claims were “totally false and have no basis in fact.”

Morgan clarified that Wright would have expressed her opinions regardless of her appearance on the show, stating, “the reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear.” He added, “That’s why we invited [Wright] on to be interviewed. The people making these claims have an audience with or without shows like mine.”

However, after hearing from the couple’s legal team, Morgan announced that the allegations would be edited out of the show. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, saying, “Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called Uncensored. But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us, too. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”

Wright, known for her collaborations with hip-hop group The Roots and as a backing singer for Jay-Z, has previously voiced grievances against several industry figures through her social media channels. She was invited by Morgan to discuss the ongoing legal issues surrounding Diddy, who was arrested last month on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. He has denied any criminal wrongdoing and is currently in custody after being denied bail.

Morgan’s show is now available on YouTube, following its departure from TalkTV in the UK earlier this year.
