Nana Romeo Pleads with IGP to Ban Election Prophecies

Story Highlights
  • Nana Romeo calls for ban on election prophecies
  • Conflicting predictions spark unrest concerns
  • Seeks action to maintain peace after election results

Nana Romeo, a renowned radio host, has urged Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akuffo Dampare to prohibit election-related prophecies to maintain peace and order post-election. Romeo expressed concern over conflicting prophecies from various prophets regarding the election outcome, citing potential confusion and unrest when predictions contradict each other.

“We all know we have one God who doesn’t lie. How can God tell Prophet A that the NDC will win the election, and then tell Prophet B that the NPP will win? If these two prophets declare their prophecies publicly and one of them doesn’t come to pass, it can cause misunderstandings,” Nana Romeo emphasized.

Romeo’s plea comes amidst prophecies from notable figures like Rev. Owusu Bempah, sparking worries about possible post-election conflicts. He believes banning these prophecies would prevent unnecessary chaos and promote national peace.

“We are pleading with IGP Dampare to take action by placing a ban on election prophecies to maintain peace and order after the elections,” Nana Romeo urged.

It’s worth noting that IGP Dampare has previously addressed concerns about prophecies causing fear and panic, emphasizing the need for responsible communication. The police have also issued directives on the communication of prophecies, urging compliance with the law to ensure national security and order.
