EC Clarifies Timeline for Revised Provisional Voters Register
- The EC provided an unedited video of the closing remarks made by the chairperson
- The Commission emphasized that the revised PVR will be available
- This clarification aims to address any misunderstandings
The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has issued a statement addressing concerns raised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the release of the revised Provisional Voters Register (PVR).
The NDC had previously claimed that the EC promised to make the updated PVR available within a week following an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting.
However, the EC clarified that the EC chairperson had stated during the meeting that the register would be released within two weeks or earlier.
To avoid any confusion, the EC provided an unedited video of the closing remarks made by the chairperson, confirming the official timeline.
The Commission emphasized that the revised PVR will be available within the stipulated two-week period.
The statement, signed by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, reaffirmed the EC’s commitment to transparency and the timely release of the updated voters register.
This clarification aims to address any misunderstandings and ensure a smooth electoral process ahead of the 2024 general elections.
