John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has embarked on a two-day tour of the Savannah Region as part of his ‘Resetting Ghana’ campaign. This tour aims to reconnect with the people and share his vision for a better Ghana.

During his stop in Abromase, Salaga South, Mahama pledged to bring development to the area through new infrastructure projects, including roads and the creation of new districts. He emphasized that these initiatives will decentralize governance and accelerate development in underserved areas.

Addressing a durbar of chiefs and residents, Mahama highlighted the importance of creating new districts. He explained that this will enhance local governance, improve service delivery, and ensure communities have greater representation and resources.

The tour marks Mahama’s return to his home region after concluding a two-day campaign in the North East Region. Throughout his tour, he continues to urge voters to remain hopeful for a better Ghana under his leadership by 2025.

A key aspect of Mahama’s campaign is his vision for a 24-hour economy. This plan aims to address unemployment, particularly among the youth, through increased job opportunities. He believes that a vibrant economy will improve living standards and create a brighter future for Ghanaians.

Mahama’s arrival in the region was met with enthusiastic celebrations. After nearly nine hours crossing the Volta Lake by pontoon, he was greeted by residents and NDC supporters with songs and dancing. This warm reception signaled their optimism that his leadership would relieve their economic hardships.

In his speech at Abromase, Mahama questioned the current government’s claims of road construction. He pointed to the deplorable state of the roads in the region and assured the community that, once elected, he would prioritize completing the road network.

This would facilitate better transportation and connectivity, boosting economic growth and development. Mahama also announced plans to create new districts based on the recent census conducted by the Ghana Statistical Service.

Addressing concerns about security, the NDC Flagbearer reassured the people that safeguarding lives and property would be a key priority under his administration. He feels that the current government has failed to uphold this responsibility.

As Mahama continues his tour, he remains committed to engaging with the people and sharing his vision for a better Ghana. His ‘Resetting Ghana’ campaign aims to restore hope and confidence in the country’s future, and he believes that together, Ghanaians can achieve greatness.
